The blade fits in a hand-held hacksaw. The pins on either end are tensioned in the hacksaw before use. The bladescan be used to cut metals or plastics.
The blade can be mounted with the teeth facing towards or away from the handle, resulting in cutting action oneither the push or pull stroke.
Range:
The range of blades are available from 14 to 32 teeth per inch (TPI). The blade corresponds to the thickness of thematerial being cut. There needs to be at least 3 teeth in the material at any time for the best result
Bi-metal vs. carbon steel hacksaw blades:
Carbon steel hacksaw blades are one of the very first hacksaw blades available. It is more flexible, but wears downfaster than bi-metal blades.

Cutting in the pull stroke increases the blade tension and will result in greater control of the cut and extends the life of the blade.
